Services
Coordinated field services for underground fiber construction.
Select a service to review the project details that help define scope, coordinate field work, and discuss crew availability.
01Fiber optic installation
Underground fiber and micro fiber placement, scoped to the project’s cable type, route, and pathway readiness.
View fiber installation details
For a focused scope review, include:
- Whether the work calls for standard fiber or micro fiber, and the estimated route footage.
- Route endpoints and whether conduit or another pathway is already installed and ready.
- Project requirements for cable placement and handling.
- Whether splicing, termination, or testing are part of the requested work or handled separately.
02Trenching & excavation
Route excavation and pathway preparation coordinated to project drawings and site conditions.
View trenching details
To clarify excavation scope, share:
- Planned route length and trench dimensions shown in the project plans.
- Surface type, equipment access, and any work-area restrictions.
- Locate ticket status and known utility conflicts along the route.
- Who is responsible for excavated material, backfill, and surface restoration.
03Field crew support
Hands-on assistance for active underground installation work, including manual digging where the scope calls for it.
View field crew details
To match field support to your site, describe:
- The task or route segment that needs crew assistance.
- Where manual digging is needed and any equipment-access limitations.
- Work windows, on-site contact, and coordination with other crews.
- Expected handoff point and any specific project responsibilities.
Typical underground installation
A coordinated sequence from planning to closeout.
Before field work begins, the project team reviews construction drawings, the approved route, utility-locate information, site access, and schedule. Crew activities then follow the agreed work sequence, installation requirements, and project scope.
01Preconstruction coordination
Set clear field responsibilities and decision points before the crew mobilizes.
View planning details
Planning checkpoints:
- Confirm the current plan set and the route revision the crew should follow.
- Identify the project lead, on-site contact, and who can resolve field questions.
- Agree on the work sequence, daily start window, access arrangements, and staging locations.
- List outstanding approvals or dependencies so they can be resolved before they affect production.
02Trench & pathway preparation
Prepare each route segment for a clear, coordinated handoff to installation.
View pathway details
Field preparation checkpoints:
- Sequence excavation in workable sections and coordinate crossings, tie-ins, and transitions with the project lead.
- Confirm conduit entry points and pathway transitions are located as shown in the approved work plan.
- Bring unexpected ground conditions, water, obstructions, or route conflicts to the lead for direction before proceeding.
- Track completed segments and identify any locations that need follow-up before cable placement.
03Fiber placement & protection
Coordinate cable placement with the designated pathway and job-specific installation method.
View placement details
Placement checkpoints:
- Confirm the assigned pathway is ready and accessible at the planned entry and exit points.
- Coordinate reel position, pull direction, equipment setup, and crew communication before the pull begins.
- Use the project-approved method and observe specified handling, bend-radius, and pulling-tension limits.
- Keep the project lead informed of placement progress, interruptions, or conditions that could affect the route.
04Handoff & closeout coordination
Provide a useful completion record and a defined next step for the project team.
View closeout details
Closeout checkpoints:
- Summarize the route sections completed and any work limits or items left open.
- Share footage, field notes, or photos when requested by the project team.
- Coordinate the next handoff with the assigned splicing, testing, backfill, or restoration team.
- Confirm who owns each remaining item and the expected timing for the next project step.
Before mobilization, the project team confirms the approved installation method, division of field responsibilities, applicable construction specifications, and required closeout items. Work is coordinated to those plans and the agreed scope, with site-specific requirements addressed as field conditions require.

Serving Dallas, Tarrant, Denton & Wise countiesSend the project location, expected start date, route details, and requested services to discuss the work and crew availability.
Share the project scope and schedule
Provide the job location and county, project phase, requested work, estimated footage or route limits, and target mobilization window. Include route drawings or scope sheets when available, along with site-access or traffic-control requirements and utility-locate status. Note whether the crew is needed for fiber or micro fiber placement, conduit-pathway preparation, trenching, excavation, or hand digging. These details help us review the work and discuss crew availability, scheduling, and next steps.
Develop a site-specific field plan
Before excavation, “calling in locates” means submitting a Texas 811 request for the specific work area. Texas 811 issues a ticket and notifies affected utility operators, who send locators to mark their underground lines. Submit the request at least two business days before digging, excluding weekends and holidays, and confirm every affected operator has responded before work begins. The markings guide excavation; privately owned lines may need a separate locate. Tru Fiber & Excavation coordinates the ticket and reviews the markings, route drawings, access, project specifications, and work sequence with your project lead so the crew can plan around identified utilities and site conditions.
Coordinate mobilization and field execution
After the scope and site requirements are reviewed, Tru Fiber & Excavation works with your project lead to confirm the requested crew support, target mobilization window, work sequence, access arrangements, and on-site contacts. Before work begins, clarify coordination with other crews, field communication for progress or schedule changes, work-area handoffs, and responsibility for any restoration or closeout tasks included in the scope. This creates a shared plan for crew availability and the start of field operations. Share your preferred start dates and schedule constraints to discuss availability.
